Resolution
The dishwasher may be leaking for the following reasons:
The dishwasher is not levelled correctly:
- Check that the appliance is levelled correctly with a spirit level.
- Loosen or tighten the adjustable feet (if applicable).
- The appliance door is not centred on the tub. Adjust the rear foot (if applicable).
- For more information on levelling your machine, refer to the user manual supplied with your appliance.
Incorrect installation - furniture door panel not fitted or fitted incorrectly (built-in dishwashers)
Check that the furniture door panel has been installed correctly and is securely attached.
Important: Built-in (integrated) dishwashers must not be used without a fitted furniture door panel. The furniture panel is an essential part of the appliance installation and is required for correct operation.
Using the appliance without a correctly fitted door panel may result in:
- Incorrect door balancing or door operation
- Water leaks
- Reduced washing or drying performance
- Error messages or operational issues
- Safety risks during use
There is a kink, blockage or disconnection in the pipes:
- Pull the machine out to check that all the pipes behind it are free from kinks or blockages.
- Follow each pipe from the dishwasher to the tap to ensure there are no visible disconnections and that all seals are dry.
There may be a split in the pipe or water seal:
- Pull the machine out to check all the pipes behind it.
- Follow each pipe to ensure there are no kinks or visible disconnections
- Check the water seal thoroughly for any breaks or erosion
Spray arm rotation obstructed or large item deflecting water jet:
- Check the spray arms and filters and clean them if necessary

How to clean your dishwasher spray arms
- Occasionally, a large item may block or hinder the spray arm from rotating, causing water to be sprayed continuously in just one position. This can place excessive pressure on one part of the door seal and result in flooding and leaking in that specific area.
- Check the loading and make sure the spray arms can rotate freely, and that no unusually large item is blocking their movement or deflecting the water spray into a corner of the dishwasher or back onto the inner door panel.
- After adjusting the load and/or removing the large item, leave the machine overnight with the water tap turned off to allow the base to dry out a little, and try again the next day.
Excessive foaming – washing-up liquid may have been used
- To rectify the problem, refer to the article There is a lot of foam in my dishwasher
Dirty or damaged door gasket
- Check the door seal around the dishwasher opening for dirt, food residues, limescale, damage, or signs of wear.
- Clean the door seal using a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sharp objects, as these may damage the seal.
- If the door seal is damaged, cracked, deformed, loose, or no longer seals correctly against the cabinet, it should be replaced.
