How to use the steam programmes on your Electrolux washing machine or washer dryer
Resolution
The Steam programmes on selected Electrolux washing machines and washer dryers help reduce creases and light odours on your clothes. Using only steam instead of washing will reduce the water usage by up to 96%*.
Selected models from Electrolux include Steam programmes.

Items suitable to use with steam programmes
Use steam with
- Cottons
- Synthetics
- Mixed items
- Cashmere and wool (only with Steam Cashmere program, if available)
Don’t use steam with
- Items to be washed at a temperature lower than 40°C
- Items unsuitable for tumble drying
- Items with plastic, metal or wooden parts
How to use the steam cycle
The steam cycle takes up to 30 minutes and is ideal for clothes that have only been worn once or that have been sitting in the wardrobe for a longer time. Recommended load is 1 kg.
- Optional: For extra freshness, add up to 20 ml of Steam Fragrance into the softener compartment in the detergent drawers
- Select the programme Steam FreshScent or Steam Cashmere
- Press Start/Pause
Directly after the steam cycle has ended, remove the laundry from the drum to avoid creasing. The laundry might be humid, line dry the items until dry.
How to add steam to the end of a washing cycle (washing machines only)
On washing machines with the steam function, it’s possible to add steam to the end of a washing cycle to reduce fabric creasing. This is an add-on option which is compatible with selected programmes and temperatures.
- Select washing programmes
- Select PlusSteam option
- Press Start/Pause
Directly after the steam cycle has ended, remove the laundry from the drum to avoid creasing.
Important
- Do not use detergent with Steam programmes
- New items should be washed at least once with a regular cycle before using a steam cycle with Steam Fragrance
