How to Fix F6 / F7 Error Codes
If your refrigerator or fridge freezer is displaying error code F6 or F7, follow these troubleshooting steps to identify and resolve the problem:
1. Check Power Supply
- Ensure the appliance is properly connected to the power supply.
- Verify that there has been no recent power outage or interruption.
2. Avoid Leaving the Door Open
- Prolonged door opening can raise the internal temperature and trigger error codes.
- Minimize how long the door stays open during use.
3. Make Sure the Door Is Fully Closed
- Check that nothing is blocking the door from sealing properly.
- Inspect the door gasket for damage or dirt that may prevent a tight seal.
4. Verify Cooling Performance
- Place a thermometer in a glass of water inside the fridge and leave it for several hours.
- The correct temperature should be between +4°C and +5°C.
Important notes:
- Food temperature is more critical than air temperature, as air fluctuates during cooling cycles.
- Lower-cost thermometers may have a margin of error of ±1–2°C.
- If needed, adjust the temperature using:
- The temperature control dial, or
- The digital control panel
5. Allow Time for Temperature Stabilization
- If the issue was caused by a temporary rise in temperature, the error code should clear automatically once normal conditions are restored.
- This may take a few hours.
