Electrolux bagged vacuum cleaner care guide: Do's and Don’ts
Resolution
Regular cleaning and maintenance help maintain good suction and keep your Electrolux bagged vacuum cleaner working efficiently. Follow these simple do’s and don’ts to keep your appliance in great condition.
Dustbin maintenance
The do’s
- Do replace the dust bag when it's full. Change it as soon as the dust bag indicator shows that a replacement is needed.
- Do pull the dust bag collar when removing the bag. This automatically closes the bag opening to help prevent dust from escaping.
- Do secure the new dust bag before closing the lid. Slide the bag collar straight down into its tracks until it's firmly in place.
The don’ts
- Don’t use incompatible dust bags. Choose original s-bag® or Electrolux dust bags recommended for your vacuum cleaner model.
- Don’t force the dust bag compartment lid shut. If it doesn't close easily, check that the dust bag is correctly positioned in its tracks.
Filter care
The do’s
- Do clean the fine-particle filter every 6 months. Check the filter at the back of the vacuum cleaner and replace it every 12 months.
- Do rinse the fine-particle filter carefully. Use lukewarm tap water on the dirty inner side only, without touching the delicate filter surface or using cleaning products.
- Do gently tap the filter frame after rinsing. Repeat the rinsing and tapping process 4 times to help remove trapped dirt and excess water.
The don’ts
- Don’t wash or clean the pre-motor filter. This filter isn't washable and should be replaced when dirty.
- Don’t put a damp fine-particle filter back into the vacuum cleaner. Let it air-dry completely at room temperature for 24 hours.
- Don’t use the vacuum cleaner without its filters. Always make sure the correct filters are fitted, using genuine s-filters or recommended Electrolux replacements.
Nozzle and battery care
The do’s
- Do clean the nozzles regularly. Disconnect them from the tube and use the suction from the hose handle to remove trapped dust and debris.
- Do replace the batteries when the nozzle lights flash rapidly. If your vacuum cleaner has a Universal nozzle with lights, this indicates that the batteries need replacing.
The don’ts
- Don’t let hair and threads build up around the Turbo nozzle brush roll. Carefully cut away any tangles with scissors to keep the brush rotating freely.
- Don’t ignore signs of low batteries in the handle controls. Replace the batteries if the indicator turns red or the controls stop responding.
A little regular maintenance goes a long way. Keep your bagged vacuum cleaner in great condition with replacement filters and accessories.
