Electrolux air conditioner care guide: Do's and Don’ts
Resolution
Proper cleaning and routine maintenance help maintain optimal cooling performance for your Electrolux air conditioner. Follow these practical do's and don'ts to keep your appliance operating reliably.
The do’s
- Do clean the air filter every 2 weeks during use. Vacuum away dust or wash the filter with warm water and mild washing-up liquid if needed. Let it dry completely before putting it back.
- Do turn off the power supply before cleaning. Turn off and unplug the air conditioner before cleaning, removing filters or draining water.
- Do keep at least 30 cm of space around air inlets and outlets. Make sure the vents remain clear, and the exhaust hose is securely fitted without sharp bends.
- Do drain the water tank before moving or storing the appliance. Use the bottom drain outlet to empty any remaining water, especially before putting the unit away for the season.
The don’ts
- Don’t use the air conditioner without its air filter. Dust can build up inside the appliance and affect cooling performance or damage internal components.
- Don’t use extension leads or multi-plug adapters. Plug the air conditioner directly into a suitable earthed wall socket.
- Don’t cover the appliance while it’s running or still warm. Keep the vents clear and avoid splashing water directly onto the exterior or controls.
- Don’t move or tilt the air conditioner while water remains in the tank. Drain the water completely before moving the appliance to help prevent leaks and spills.
Safe storage and handling
The do’s
- Do store your appliance upright in a cool, dry place. Keep it away from direct sunlight, freezing temperatures and excessive dust.
- Do use a breathable cover when storing your appliance. A suitable cloth or cover helps protect it from dust without trapping moisture.
The don’ts
- Don’t store your appliance near heat sources or flammable materials. Keep it away from open flames, heaters, and aerosol cans.
- Don’t store your air conditioner in tightly sealed plastic bags. Trapped moisture can lead to corrosion and mould growth during long-term storage.
A little regular maintenance goes a long way. Keep your portable air conditioner in great condition with the right care products, spare parts, and accessories.
