Program not starting and cycle indicator light flashing on dishwasher
Issue
- Cycle indicator light is flashing on the dishwasher
- Program not starting in dishwasher
Applies to
- Built-in dishwasher
- Freestanding dishwasher
Resolution
Before starting the appliance always check if:
- The filters are clean and correctly installed.
- The cap of the salt container is tight.
- The spray arms are not clogged and can move freely.
- There is enough salt and rinse aid (unless you use multi-tablets).
- The arrangement of the items in the baskets is correct.
- The programme is suitable for the type of load and the degree of soil.
- The correct quantity of detergent is used.
If the dishwasher LED is flashing and the programme is still not starting:
1. Make sure that the appliance door is fully closed. An audible click should be heard.
2. If the delay start is set, cancel the setting or wait for the end of the countdown.
Press and hold the RESET / CANCEL button(s) (normally highlighted on the panel) which should abort the cycle and drain the appliance.
Please refer to the article: Dishwasher is stuck mid-cycle and won't allow me to select a different programme
3. The appliance recharges the resin inside the water softener.
The duration of the procedure is approximately 5 minutes. The water softener removes minerals from the water supply, which would have a negative effect on the washing results and the appliance.
If the problem persists, please contact an Authorised Service Centre.
