How to clean your fridge

Basic cleaning

  1. Remove the shelves and place them on a worktop to allow them to reach room temperature.
  2. Remove the drawers and any other compartments.
  3. Wash the shelves and compartments in warm water with a neutral detergent and a soft cloth. Leave to dry.
  4. Clean the inside of the fridge with a soft cloth and a specialist fridge cleaner spray. Don’t use abrasive cleaning products, which could cause damage.
  5. Wipe the door seals to ensure they are clean and free of debris.

Cleaning the shelves and accessories

Clean shelf accessories by hand with soap and water. Do not wash these in a dishwasher.

Changing the CleanAir+ filter

If your fridge has a CleanAir+ carbon filter, replace it every six months to ensure optimal performance, assuming normal fridge usage. Check the user manual for detailed instructions on how to change the air filter. You can purchase new filters here.

How to clean your freezer

Basic cleaning

  1. Clean the inside and accessories with lukewarm water and some neutral soap.
  2. Regularly check the door seals and wipe them clean to ensure they are free of debris.
  3. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

Important: Do not use detergents, abrasive powders, chlorine or oil-based cleaners, as they will damage the finish.

Defrosting – necessary for freezers that don’t have the NoFrost feature

Defrost your freezer when the frost layer is about 3–5 mm thick.

  1. About 12 hours before defrosting, lower the temperature to below -18°C so that food remains chilled for longer while you defrost your freezer.
  2. Turn off the freezer or remove the plug from the wall socket.
  3. Remove any stored food and put it in a cool place.
  4. Leave the door open. Protect the floor from water with a cloth or tray.
  5. Place a pot of warm water in the freezer compartment to speed up defrosting. Remove pieces of ice that may break away before defrosting is complete using the supplied ice scraper.
  6. When defrosting is complete, dry the inside thoroughly.
  7. Turn on the freezer and close the door.
  8. Set the coldest temperature and run the product for at least 3 hours before placing food back into the freezer.

Important: Never use sharp metal tools to scrape off frost as this could damage the product. Also, do not use any mechanical device or artificial means to speed up the thawing process.
