Excessive foaming/too much detergent
Resolution
Switch off the machine and clean the drain pump/filter
Time: 10 min
When a lot of soap powder is used or a lot of foam is produced, the level system can get blocked by foam.
Excessive detergent use can build up inside the appliance and cause bad smells and stains on clothes.
Step 1: If possible, remove the foam from inside the drum
Step 2: Add some cold water either through the detergent drawer or directly onto the foam
Step 3: Run a quick rinse and spin programme
Step 4: Next you will need to clean the drain pump/filter
Warning: Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket. Do not remove the filter while the appliance operates. Do not clean the pump if the water in the appliance is hot. Wait until the water cools down.
Step 5: Open the pump cover

Step 6: Place a suitable bowl below the drain pump access to collect the water that flows out
Open the chute downwards. Always keep a rag nearby to dry up any water spillages when removing the filter.

Step 7: Turn the filter 180 degrees in an anti-clockwise direction to open it, without removing it
Let the water flow out into the bowl.

When the bowl is full of water, turn the filter back and empty the container.
Repeat this step until the water stops flowing out.
Step 8: Turn the filter anti-clockwise to remove the filter

Step 9: Clean the filter by rinsing it under a tap
{AMS|130|If the filter appears to be damaged or broken, we recommend buying a new one}

Step 10: Put the filter back into the special guides by turning it clockwise
Make sure that you tighten the filter correctly to prevent leakages.

Step 11: Close the pump cover
Note: When you drain the water with the emergency drain procedure, you must activate the drain system again. Put 2 litres of water in the main wash compartment of the detergent dispenser.
